Ordering Large Barrels, Tanks and Ovals

Taransaud makes barrels in larger sizes, but availability is quite limited. The larger the size the smaller our allocation!

300 liter: known in Australia as the hogshead
350 liter: used for Cognac and sometimes for wine
400 liter: used here and in Italy for wine
450/500/600 liter: these are all allocated

Tanks/Ovals/Round Casks

foudres Taransaud has been making tanks for decades. In the past fifteen years we have delivered a dazzling array of tanks, ovals and round casks to wineries in Oregon and Washington.

All the wood used is first-class Allier oak, air-dried five years. All wood tanks are certified free of TCA, TBA and related compounds at shipment. Containers are tested for contaminants before loading.Storage tanks: Taransaud has built 100s of these for Hennessy alone.

Fermentation Tanks

You have several options:

    open top fermenter, popular in Burgundy
    wood top with large removable opening for punchdowns
    stainless steel top with large removable opening for punchdowns
